A new term provides an opportunity to reset and be intentional about how we show up and shape the weeks ahead. We acknowledge that in reality there are some things that sit outside of our control, however there is plenty that we do have control over… it’s up to us.
- Our thinking patterns
- Our attitude
- Our self-care
- Our boundaries
Here are some provocations and affirmations to get you started. If something resonates, print it off or put it on your desktop as a reminder to talk and treat yourself like someone you love.
*Mauria ko ōku painga, waiho ko ōku wherū.
Take what is good in this, leave the rest behind.
*Learn to say no. It’s liberating.
*Asking for help is one of the best things you will ever do.
*Everyone is going through something. Not just you.
*Cut yourself some slack. You’re allowed to have days when you feel like a sack of potatoes.
*Before you judge or compare yourself, ask why.
*Thoughts are not facts. Are your thoughts:
Helpful?
Truthful?
Compassionate?
Realistic?
*Your behaviour, not your words, tells others what your heart really wants.
*No matter how devastating your struggles, disappointments and troubles… they are only temporary.
*Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini.
My success is not mine alone, it is the success of the collective.
No one gets there alone.
Let’s be positive. Have a great term ahead.
