He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata

Being mindful of the changes in education that are ahead, let’s remind ourselves that the most important thing is our people. Regardless of outside influences, our people shape our culture and therefore what our akonga experience.

When it comes to our people let’s ensure that we don’t leave anything to chance.

Here are some practicals to take you through the second half of term 3.

Maintain the check-in

3 connectors:

1.Achieve-Connect-Enjoy

2. Consider giving ’how are you’ a shake up. What about trying, ‘what are you looking forward to today?’ or ‘what’s been the best thing about today?’ If you ask ‘how are you?’ & the response is ‘good’- ask ‘what makes it good?’

3. How about a connection question: ‘what’s a talent or skill you have that might surprise people?’ or ‘what is something you do differently to most people?’

2 quotes:

1. “I will not talk about you without you. I expect the same from you. So, conversations will be had and had early”

2. “Speaking up is the first step to solving silent problems”
